I have no time to waste. I’m 72 years old, and I know I’m living in the last third of my life. That awareness has become one of my greatest gifts. We often hear people say they don’t want to die with regrets, but few live as though they truly believe their time is limited. Memento mori—remember you will die. Tempus fugit—time flies. These aren’t dark ideas. They are a wake-up call. Every sunrise quietly asks the same question: What are you going to do with the life you have left?
Most of us behave as though we have endless tomorrows. We tolerate relationships that diminish us, postpone dreams that matter, and spend precious energy on distractions that will never satisfy us. We convince ourselves that someday we’ll become more courageous, more present, more authentic. But someday is a fantasy. The only life you will ever change is the one unfolding right now. If you aren’t living in alignment with what matters most today, what makes you believe tomorrow will be any different?
Meditating on our mortality doesn’t make life smaller—it makes it crystal clear. It humbles us. It strips away ego, excuses, and trivial concerns. It forces us to confront the uncomfortable truth that every “I’ll do it later” is a gamble against a future none of us has been promised. The question isn’t whether you will die. The question is whether you will fully live before you do.
Take an honest look at your life. What conversation have you been avoiding? What dream keeps knocking that you continue to ignore? What truth are you refusing to speak? Stop waiting for certainty. Stop waiting for permission. Stop waiting for a version of yourself that is somehow braver than the one reading these words. Your life is happening now. The clock is not slowing down. Lean into your life before time makes the decision for you.
Offering an opportunity to help you find new possibility in your life.
